26-02-2010  Construction begins on the new KLINIPATH Netherlands location

KLINIPATH is expanding

Last year, to accommodate further expansion of the business and to maximise efficiency, the KLINIPATH board decided to build a new location a short distance away from the current location. In December 2009, following an intensive period of design and development, the first foundations were laid at the Graafstaete Industrial Estate in Duiven. At the 4,000m² site, processing areas, warehouses, loading bays, conference rooms, meeting rooms and offices are undergoing construction. The growth of KLINIPATH is clearly displayed by the total net floor area of the construction (approx. 3,000m²), which will be equipped with the latest technology and have a cutting-edge layout. The capacity of the new building is more than three times that of the current location in Duiven.

Graafstaete

The Graafstaete Industrial Estate, where the head office of KLINIPATH will be built, is located in the area to the south of the Graafsingel, to the west of the Westsingel, and to the north of De Eng. Intratuin was the first company to build at this location. Since this time, many new premises have been realised, one of which being KLINIPATH's new premises. Graafstaete is located just off the A12, and this highly accessible location is ideal for companies with a high number of visitors, or, as is the case with KLINIPATH, where a great deal of lorry transport is necessary.

Relocation

The construction is scheduled to be complete by July/August 2010. The relocation will take place in October/November 2010.

Belgium

In 2006, KLINIPATH Belgium relocated to new premises in Olen. Just as with the Belgian relocation, the Dutch relocation will also create extra space and new opportunities.

26-02-2010  Expansion of FDA for Focal Point Guided Screening (FPGS)

FPGS has been used for Computer Assisted Screening in the Netherlands since autumn 2008. The Oost Nederland (Eastern Netherlands) Pathology Lab in Enschede, Maasstand Hospital in Rotterdam and SSDZ in Delft all use FPGS. An extra useful application of the technology is the usage of a bidirectional connection between the FPGS software and the Palga registration/reporting system. This allows cervix cytology tests (one-off scans) to be safely and efficiently carried out and documented.

In addition to all previously achieved approvals from the FDA for the various applications of FPGS (QC instrument, screening for conventional cytology, LBC Surepath screening), the Guided Screening (GS Imaging System) is now also registered.

 26-02-2010  G-VIR Surgical Gloves

New G-VIR surgical gloves reduce the chances of infection from blood exposure accidents by 80%.

After 10 years of research and development, Hutchinson Santé has launched a new generation of surgical gloves, named G-VIRs. These gloves are made according to a three-layer principle: two strong outer layers and an internal layer that contains microdrops of a viral disinfectant agent. The disinfectant ensures a significant reduction in the viral transmission of diseases, such as HIV or hepatitis C, as a result of blood exposure accidents. G-VIR gloves offer a unique, never-before achieved level of protection for professionals. G-VIR gloves are made of synthetic elastomers, they are both powder-free and latex-free, and they offer optimal comfort and tactile sensitivity.

The gloves are widely used for surgery within a variety of specialist fields. They are also used for riskier autopsies and medical procedures.

G-VIR gloves are not a replacement for regular gloves. We recommend use of G-VIR gloves in cases with a heightened risk, for example when it is known that a patient/body is infected with HIV, hepatitis C etc, or when a body has been repatriated from a country with a higher risk factor.
Various scientific publications in renowned scientific journals such as, amongst others, ‘Nature' and ‘Medicine', have documented the applicability and the effectiveness of these gloves.

Each pair of gloves is packaged whilst sterile, and they are available in all sizes.
KLINIPATH BV is the main importer of G-VIR gloves in the Benelux.
In the event of a blood exposure accident, these gloves reduce the risk of infection by 80%*. We would be delighted to tell you more about G-VIR gloves. An extensive information package can be requested via e-mail, or you can visit http://www.g-vir.com for a comprehensive description of how the gloves work.

*For further information, visit http://www.g-vir.com or request an information package from KLINIPATH.
